The most sensitive data collected about your behaviour, on this website and any other website using web analytics, is your IP address. In Switzerland the law considers the IP address as personally identifiable information. This IP address can be translated into where you live but not with massive precision and again you remain anonymous. At best I could tell that someone living a specific town or borough came to visit this website. I could not tell your street name and house number. As an additional voluntary step I anonymise all IP addresses collected on my website.

Google Analytics is a web analytics tool. Web analytics consists of collecting anonymous data about how you interact with this website to uncover what are the top things to improve so you have a better user experience. It is not about individual surveillance. Collecting personally identifiable information about you is against the terms and conditions I have agreed to with Google. I am based in the UK and under UK and European law collecting personally identifiable information is also against the law.

I do not intend to resell the data collected from this website. A good web analyst also only collects data that is strictly necessary to improve the user experience and nothing more. A good website should let you, the visitor, manage the cookies they use on their website without being a computer expert.
